Dr. Gregg Marutzky

Dr. Gregg Marutzky is the Senior Minister for the Antelope Valley Church of Christ in Lancaster, California. Gregg became a Christian at the University of Colorado and graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.S. in Business Administration. He continued his education at Pepperdine University receiving a M.S. in Ministry and a Master of Divinity. Gregg later gained a Doctor of Ministry degree from Abilene Christian University and M.S. in Clinical Counseling from the University of Nebraska. Gregg is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership from Johnson University. Gregg is the Dean of the Los Angeles School of Ministry plus teaches at the Rocky Mountain School of Theology and Ministry. He also guest lectures at Rochester University. Gregg is a national board certified counselor and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor #8371 and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #111635 in California.

Philosophical Foundations of Hermeneutics

Hermeneutics are founded on different philosophical constructs and therefore the suppositions underlying our interpretive lens is very important to understand. Understanding the influence of our worldview and philosophical perspective has significant ramifications for our understanding of text. Hermeneutical humility to be self-aware of our own bias and unconscious thinking that shapes our understanding is imperative for intellectual honest scholarship.
